ForceASPI by Fflexion.Org is a lightweight utility designed to install, repair, or remove the ASPI (Advanced SCSI Programming Interface) driver layer on legacy versions of Windows. It helps older CD/DVD burning and ripping tools, as well as other SCSI-aware applications, communicate with optical drives and certain legacy hardware when the ASPI layer is missing or damaged.

Key capabilities include forcing an ASPI install on systems where official installers may refuse, verifying the installed ASPI version, and cleanly uninstalling or restoring previous configurations. ForceASPI is intended for older, 32-bit Windows platforms such as Windows 9x/ME/NT4/2000/XP. It requires administrative privileges and typically a system restart to complete changes.

Because modern versions of Windows provide native interfaces that most current software uses, ASPI is rarely needed today. Install ForceASPI only if you have an application that specifically depends on ASPI, and use it at your own risk on supported legacy systems.
